What is the CSECP™ ?
The Certified Sanctions and Export Controls Professional (CSECP) is a professional certification designed to establish a market standard in training and education on export controls and economic sanctions, developed by the International Sanctions and Export Control Society (ISECS) in collaboration with former government officials, trade compliance lawyers, and senior industry professionals.
What is the goal of the CSECP™ ?
The CSECP credential aims to recognize individuals who have completed rigorous training courses covering key regulatory frameworks, compliance strategies, and enforcement mechanisms across different jurisdictions. The program is built around certificate courses (e.g., U.S., China, EU, India) that cover export controls, sanctions laws, regulatory agencies, and practical compliance considerations; completing two such jurisdiction-specific courses—including the mandatory U.S. Sanctions and Export Control Certificate—earns a candidate the CSECP title.
How was the CSECP™ Developed?
The ISECS-CSECP is a collaborative effort between former international government officials (regulatory, enforcement, and national security), trade compliance lawyers, and industry professionals from multinational companies to create a unique, one-of-a-kind, industry standard for professional certifications.
Individual CSECP certificate courses are developed in concert with former government officials of the jurisdiction covered by the certificate course, when applicable.
How do I earn the CSECP™ Title?
As a CSECP Learner, you can earn the CSECP title by completing two of several country jurisdiction certifications, which will be released throughout 2025 and 2026. The U.S. Sanctions and Export Control Certificate course is mandatory. Other jurisdictions are optional.
Upon successfully completing the individual certificate courses, you will be awarded the coveted CSECP Certificate and Title.
How long do I have to earn the CSECP™ title?
CSECP courses are self paced learning in the ISECS new professional learning management system. Learners are able to complete courses from their computer, phone, or tablet, anywhere in the world.
